A move to Spanish side Villarreal for striker
Roberto Soldado has been confirmed by
Tottenham Hotspur.
Soldado is heading back to his homeland to link up
with the Yellow Submarine following a difficult spell
at White Hart Lane.
Spurs splashed out €30m to sign Soldado from La
Liga giants Valencia in 2013, but he failed to adapt to
life in the Premier League and soon found himself
dropping out of the side.
In total Soldado made 76 appearances for Spurs in all
competitions, but hit the back of the net on just 16
occasions.
Last term the rise of starlet Harry Kane pushed
Soldado further down the pecking order at White
Hart Lane and he is now leaving.
Soldado joins a club that finished sixth in La Liga last
term and will be relishing the chance to play week in,
week out in Spain.
Villarreal kick off their new La Liga campaign on 23rd
August by taking on Real Betis away from home.
